Tours through the neighbourhoods - Paul Bert

Ville d'Art et d'Histoire

Duration: 1h30 - Price: from 10 €
Tours Loire Valley Tourist Office and the city of Tours invite you to take a guided tour of the Paul-Bert district.

A guided tour of the Paul-Bert district, a link with the hyper-center of Tours, where you'll find typical houses, the atmosphere of the banks of the Loire, the unmissable Pont de fil and a singular history.

On the pilgrimage route of Saint Martin, between the eponymous basilica and Marmoutier Abbey, the ancient village of Saint-Symphorien is a crossroads, benefiting in the Middle Ages from the attraction of the city of Tours. Its port was a major source of economic activity. The district is home to many old timber-framed houses and a remarkable parish church. Along the streets, you'll also discover homes carved into the limestone hillside, a characteristic feature of the Touraine landscape.

This tour has been awarded the Ville d'Art et d'Histoire label.
