At the end of the Middle Ages, when the population of Tours was rising considerably, the city's inner city and suburbs responded to the demand for housing by building housing estates. Sometimes little-known, these remarkable ensembles reveal the distinctive features of the urban dwelling in Tours.
The tour ends in the Vieux Tours district.
